Hello World.

Get your dose of fresh beats and melodies. I know your libraries are already bumpin, this is just some icing on the cake. Hot out the oven and ready to serve...get some sound people.

Hot Out the Oven: Maino

Boi-1da is doing it right now...Drake, Em, and working with The Jonas Brothers. He does a lot of work with Drake (Ransom, Forever) and produced this track (same beat as Eminem's latest track) and to be honest this is a tough call between Em and Maino. I'm not sure who had the beat first, both tracks are album intended and more distinctly both tracks are pretty different so I'm sure both artists worked completely unaware the beat wasn't exclusive. Its likely there will be a lil drama with this...Boi-1da's manager sent some beats to Em a couple weeks ago that included this track and Em picked 2-3 for his upcoming album Recovery. Conversely, there was no direct collaboration between Em and Boi-1da so it's possible Maino was in the same situation because he is working on his sophomore album The Day After Tomorrow. Both tracks are hot so... Spin the track!!

Hot Out the Oven: Eminem

Off the new album and I'm relatively speechless. For the record-Eminem is top 10 of all time. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Slim Shady

"Despicable (Freestyle)"

Eminem is set to drop a single off of his upcoming album sometime this week (Friday). This is a freestyle over Drake's "Over" which transitions to "Beemer, Benz, or Bentley." As usual, Marshal Mathers goes in and I'm sure this is a preview of whats to come. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Charles Hamilton

Some of Charles Hamilton's beats are too electronically driven which tends to divert attention from his flow. Despite that, I see his swag. Spin the track.

The Lytics-Checkin' On My Pumas

The Lytics are a 5 man crew outta Canada who are steadily creeping up in the music scene. The earlier post "Last Bit (Lovely Words)" is an awesome song well worth the download. This song has a quick and funky rhythm thats been rattling in my head for the past couple weeks. I'm all about the "Swoosh Life", but the song bumps and will hopefully make up for The Game mixtape if you are disappointed. Shout out to Caroline G-J for having a dope library which I murder on Mojo. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: The Game-The R.E.D. Room Mixtape

Tracks:

I've heard some great songs off this mixtape so I was expecting some heat. There are a couple dope tracks but collectively, I was expecting a lot more. It's got the composition of a studio album and had the hype of an album but....its a typical mixtape folks. Spin the track.

P.S. The download takes a little while, I'm guessing because so many people are trying to cop it and XXLmag is the only resource as of now.

Hot Out the Oven: Los-Zero Gravity

 Tracklisting:

Most of you probably have no idea who this guy is but he is a mixtape mastermind. Los has been around for quite a bit and is known for his ability to kill it on every track he is on with ridiculous freestyles and intricate versus. Just about all the songs on this mixtape are just as good if not better than the originals. If you wanna hear some serious flow over recent hits-Los is your dude. Spin the track.

Throwback Track: 50 Cent

The Kanye post brought me back to the lil face-off Kanye and 50 Cent had about who would sell more records (808s vs CURTIS) and although Kanye won many might say 50 had a better album despite both their records being the worst of all their albums. This is a throwback G-Unit track that has a dope beat and being from NY...50 is my dude. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: The Game

The Game has been droppin' tracks for the past couple weeks that are rumored to be off an album titled "The R.E.D. album" but since he proclaimed retirement after L.A.X. I'm not sure if there will be another studio album from The Game any time soon. He has confirmed a mixtape release for this monday for the R.E.D. room mixtape which I'm pretty hyped for. This beat is hot and the song is my jam right now. Spin the track.

Throwback Track: Kanye West

I know a lot of people didn't spin 808's and Heartbreaks but to be honest with you the album was pretty good. It wasn't the Kanye people were used to so its understandable why it got a lot of flack but for the genre of music, Kanye killed it and showed his versatility as a musician. I'm a big fan of Kanye-his music and his swag alike. Fortunately he is back on his grind to "old" Kanye and should be dropping an album in the very near future. Based on the people who have produced on this album and some of the rumored collaborations...I'm calling it now; he's back. This is a classic Kanye song that wasn't on any albums but is hot. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: B.o.B

I love Coldplay so this is perfect. Spin the track.

Just in time for Friday....Club Banger-Plies

I'm all about the occasional club banger that has senseless lyricism but a bumpin bass. Doug Cregg was on top with this one....Spin the track.

Charles Hamilton

This Cleveland native raised in NYC brings the heat. I've been sleeping on Charles Hamilton for too long, he's about to drop an album and has countless mixtapes. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: B.o.B

B.o.B is the definition of a musician. He raps, sings, produces, and is instrumentally incline. The album drops in 4 days...if anyone still buys CDs out there I recommend grabbing this one. Spin the track.

Chiddy Bang: "Truth" Music Video

This is a track off of The Swelly Express mixtape which I've praised countless times. Typical Xaphoon Jones (producer)with the Passion Pit sample. Personally this isn't one of my favorite songs from Chiddy Bang but just about all their songs are worth a play. Spin the track!

Rest In Peace- Guru of Gang Starr

As many of you may know, Guru of rap duo Gang Starr passed away yesterday after many years of battling cancer. For those of you unfamiliar with Gang Starr they are pretty throwback and have been around since the late 80's. Gang Starr is out of Boston and was a collaboration between legendary producer DJ Premier and the late MC Guru. Gang Starr is one of the few notable rap/hip-hop artists out of Boston so much love. These are my two favorite tracks by Gang Starr, both are classics. Spin the track.

Lil Wayne-No Ceilings No Walls Pt. 3

I could write for days about Lil Wayne but I'm gonna reserve my Lil Wayne post for his release from prison and/or the release of a [anticipated] new album/mixtape. Spin the track.

T.I.-Down Like That ft. Fergie & will.i.am

This song has a much different vibe to it than most T.I. songs but it bumps. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven...kinda-B.o.B

Tracks off of The Adventures of Bobby Ray having been leaking left and right. These songs should've been up a couple days ago but this past weekend was madness in Boston. Marathon Monday or Patriot's Day is an annual event and I was fortunate enough to attend and join in the celebration. Props to everyone who ran in the Boston Marathon and I'm sure all those who didn't run had just a good time watching. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Cobe Obeah

Be on the looks for this guy, his music is dope. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: J.Cole

J. Cole is one of the few freshmen I'm bumping. This song is pretty tight. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Drake

I've had a crazy weekend so my bad for sleeping on this track and a couple more. Here is some new Drake which leaked a couple days ago and word on the street is Lil Wayne will hav a couple verses on the final version. Props to Fontaine for keeping me posted. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Jared Evan

This song was produced by Statik Selektah, who stays bringing the hot beats. Hopefully someone will come along and do a remix with some dope verses and keep Jared Evan on the hook. If not, this Justin Timberlake act will do. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Charles Hamilton

I've quickly become a fan of Charles Hamilton over the past couple weeks. He has some serious flow with the lyrics and unlike most of the new artists...goes hard. The beat to this song is a little too out there for me but the song has been getting some love. Spin the track.

Viva La Hova

"Life of Clocks"
I try to avoid repeat posts but this mixtape is a must have. Spin the track.

Get Some Sound...Redrama

Redrama is a rapper outta Helsinki, Finland. He is up and coming in Europe...I'm not sure if he'll surface in the underground scene in the U.S. tho. His beats are real soulful and he has great hooks. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: T.I.

The King of The South has been teasing everybody with a couple singles since coming out of jail but word on the street is he is wrapping up a mixtape titled "Fuck a Mixtape." This songs ok, something for the ladies. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Nas & Damien Marley

Distant Relatives is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. Nas and Damien Marley have been in the studio perfecting a hip/hop-reggae dynamic which has sounded pretty dope from what I've heard. This is their latest release, real reggae beat to it...ideal for all you tryin' to chill this coming Tuesday lol. The album drops May 18th, get some. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Pretty Girls Remix

Wale's debut album Attention Deficit has a few tracks that are straight-up anthems, "Pretty Girls" being one of em. This Chris Breezy and Fabulous is almost as good as the original. Spin the track.

Mash Up Flow-Lil Wayne & Kanye versus Red Hot Chili Peppers

It's almost Friday, impress all your friends with some party music courtesy of The Baker's Dozen. Spin the track.

Talib Kweli ft. Estelle-Midnight Hour

Talib is a legend and always has incredible delivery and witty, loaded lyrics. This song has a real lively-jazz beat that I fux with. I'm a big fan of Mo' Town and throwback music like The Temptations and Jackson 5. This song has that feel and then some. Spin the track.

Alpha Noise

I don't know too much about these guys but this is a jam. I'm all about the Indie/Alternative sound but a lot of the new progressive artists with a pop sound don't go as hard with the lyrics. These guys got some mic flow...Spin the track.

Club Banger...Triple C's ft. Rick Ross-We Gettin' It

This song bumps. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: The Game

The Game has been brewing an album for the past year and I'm feelin' his music theses days. Despite his ego and false sense of supremacy in hip-hop, I'm a big fan of The Game. This song is pretty tight-The Game goes hard, Pharrell kills the hook, and The Neptunes rarely fuck up a beat so enjoy. I look forward to hearing more off of The R.E.D. Album . Spin the track.

Rich Hill ft. Kid Cudi-Trippy

Download: Rich Hill ft. Kid Cudi-Trippy

Rich Hill and Kid Cudi did a few collabs that are pretty old but most people havn't heard em. I posted their latest song "Won't You Tell Me" along with their best collab-"Girls Sounds and Colors." If you like Cudi you're bound to enjoy all 3 songs. C-Roser I see you. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Wiz Khalifa & Disco Biscuits-Kush and Orange Juice (mixtape)

"Supply ft. Nesby Phips"

I've been waiting for this to drop for the past couple of months. Young Khalifa got in the studio with alternative/pop sensation The Disco Biscuits to put together what should be a hot mixtape. Spin the track.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Rich Hill ft. Kid Cudi

This is my track of the week. Cudi's music is that crack. This has been out for awhile but I've been sleeping on my shit, my bad. Spin the track.
Download: Rich Hill ft. Kid Cudi-Girls, Sounds & Colors

David Guetta versus Drake Masp-Up

This might be better than both originals, you can't go wrong with Drake, David Guetta, or Kid Cudi. Spin the track!

Throwback Track: Main Flow and 7L

("Stack Up" is the first part of the video)
These guys are fairly underground and relatively unknown but are hip-hop at its finest. The lyrics and flow are real street and gritty and the beat has some tight strings. This is off their album Flow Season which dropped a couple years ago so this isn't anything new. Spin the track.

 "Airplanes"

Pharcyde & Sublime.

 Download: Sublime & Pharcyde-"Summertime Remix"

Pharcyde throws a couple verses on Sublime's "Summertime," reviving the classic anthem. I won't be chillin in the LBC but I'll deff be blasting this song kickin' it poolside. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: The Lytics

 Download: Last Bit (Lovely Words)

These guys are an up and coming rap trio. This song isn't too new but its hot, the hook caught me real quick. Spin the track.

Throwback Track: Public Enemy

Chuck D is one of the founding fathers of lyricism and Public Enemy never gets old. Spin the track.

DoM Kennedy Mixtape: From The Westside, With Love

"Locals Only"

This mixtape dropped a couple weeks ago and I was skeptical at first but Dom Kennedy kills it. Spin the track.

Shawn Christopher

Hopefully I speak for everyone: being a kid is straight up good living. This song has a good feel to it that just might make you feel like a kid again. Haha its a hot song off Xaphoon's mixtape. Spin the track.

Great party track and good looks Josh with the find. Check out his site Detroit to Boston-for some sports and music. Spin the track.

Mr. Hit That

Summer is a season of Club Bangers. Something about southern rap brings that summer feel, this song is.... entertaining. What up to Muku G. with the find. Spin the track.

Hot Out The Oven: Rich Hill ft. Kid Cudi

Classic Cudi beat, I'm not sure Rich Hill does the beat right tho. Spin the Track.

The Jack Johnson Sessions

M.i. takes a bunch of Jack Johnson songs and raps over them. The mixtape is tight as hell and M.i.'s verses are surprisingly good. You can download the mixtape from Datpiff.com and it's worth making an account. Spin the track.

Hot Out The Oven: CHiddy Bang-Air Swell Mixtape!

New mini-Mixtape from Chiddy Bang, good looks by my dude Riley. If you don't have The Swelly Express by now, stop following the blog. Spin the track.

"Breakfast"

Wu Tang vs. The Beatles

On their own, I'm not incredibly fond of either of these artists. I understand their significance in music history and all that but Wu nor The Beatles really do it for me. However I am a fan of Wu Tang vs. The Beatles: Enter The Magical Mystery. This track is probably the only one worth the download tho. Spin the track.
Download: Wu Tang vs The Beatles-Uh Huh

Switchin' it up: Two Door Cinema Club

These guys are a pop/electronic band that I'm feeling these days. No rap or remixes...some straight up indie music. Departs from the consecutive hip-hop posts I've had but I'm all about different music. Spin the track.

Macklemore

Macklemore is out of Seattle, Washington and caught my attention with his song "Irish Celebration" which I posted in honor of St. Patty's day a couple weeks ago. As promised, here is a list of Macklemore's best, enjoy. The mixtape is real light, 7 tracks, but I fux with it. Spin the track.

"Vipassana"

Throwback Track: Billionaire Boyz

 Download: Billionaire Boyz-Tan

This song has a club banger feel but never really surfaced. With the Sun out and the nice weather, some fine girls are surfacing trying to get their tan on. Billionaire Boyz did it right with this jam "Tan." Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Bobby Ray

The whole B.o.b. versus Bobby Ray thing isn't quite clear to me yet but fuck it, this guy is dishing out some quality sound. This song is chill and has dope instrumentals. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Moses Haughton

"Underdog"

I've had the pleasure of discovering a lot of underground, developing, and unknown artists while running The Baker's Dozen. Through the wonders of social networking, I give you Moses Haughton. I heard this guy's music and instantly got hooked. As I stated earlier on when talking about Aviator, hip-hop is transforming. An ongoing transition to an alternative/pop sound is becoming more common and honestly I find it much more aesthetically pleasing in terms of sound and melody. Moses Haughton captures exactly what I'm talking about; an electronic blend of pop/alternative with a strong urban flow. If you've been skipping out on all the less known artists...this is the one to give a listen. He's on the rise so check out his Blog, become a fan on Facebook, Tweet, do whatever you can to spread "The Good Life" as he likes to call his music. Don't sleep on this one, his shit bumps. Spin the track!!

DUKE's Mike Posner ft. Big Sean-Who Knows

Congrats to Duke and heres to a solid spring of March Madness. My roommate actually picked Duke from the beginning and is collecting $crilla left and right. Despite all the people doing The John Wall Dance, Kentucky fluked and fuckd my bracket early.

Mike Posner is a senior at Duke and he is one of my favorite artists. I've been blastin' his music for the past year now and am waiting for him to blow up. This song is a must have and the title happens to suite March Madness. Surf the blog for his mixtapes, they're well worth a listen. Spin the track.
Download: Mike Posner-Who Knows ft. Big Sean
