Hot Out the Oven: Chiddy BanG!

More Chiddy Bang to rock your eardrums. This song is real energetic and gets me hyped. It's off of Chiddy Bang producer Xaphoon's mixtape Benzi "The Elitaste Mixtape SXSW Mixtape" which has a few hot club/electronic remixes. Spin the track.!!

Kid Cudi

Last year was the year of the Cudder. Man On The Moon is probably one of my favorite albums of all time. Kid Cudi pioneered a new style of rap/hip-hop and continues to change up the game and influence music lyrically and conceptually. Back by popular demand...these are some Cudi tracks that aren't as played but I enjoy nonetheless. Spin the track.

AkoN & David Guetta at it again.

"Sexy Bitch" was a hot club track. I'm a big fan of David Guetta. He's a big deal in Europe and has been slowly making his way in the US pop scene. This song is pretty good. Spin the track.

Here's Guetta killing it again with new vocal specialist Bruno Mars (Nothing On You).

Hot Out the Oven: B.o.B. and Charles Hamilton

This a great collaboration and the beat flows. Charles Hamilton is growing on me so be on the looks for more of his music. Spin the track.

CHIDDY stays bringin' The BANG!

These are some older Chiddy Bang tracks I copped off of GoodMusicAllDay. It's three songs that weren't on the mixtape, all three are pretty good and stay true to that electronic/pop yet urban and hip/hop feel. If you still need convincing that these dudes are legit...just give them a listen then download The Swelly Express Mixtape because it has a few tracks that are some quality sound and straight up good music. Spin the track.

Start the Week Right

I have an 8 am class every Monday,Wednesday, Friday and I always need some music to get me going in the morning. My roommate usually blasts some techno or some shit real up beat bright and early. I switch my song of choice for the mornings just about every week, this is my monday morning jam, a hot remix of the song "Gifted" with Kanye West and Santigold. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Kinetics

I have some fresh sound for ya: Kinetics and One Love. This hip/hop duo out of NYC is legit. I'm loving their electronic/alternative sound and I'll be blasting 'em quite a bit in the next few weeks. They are without a doubt worth a listen and I highly recommend you download their mixtapes if you like Chiddy Bang or a like. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Sam Adams

Pretty tight track, check out the earlier posts on the Beantown's phenomena cuz...he's killing it. Spin the track.

Mash-Up Flow.

This is a Mash-up that is real mellow and well done. If you're into mash-ups MotherEarth does it right all dayyy err'day. Spin the track.

50 Cent and Lupe, great mix...could easily be mistaken for an original. Spin the Track.

Hot Out the Oven: The Dean's List

These guys are a new duo and so far are keeping it real. If you vibe Cudi, Chiddy Bang, Shwayze or any of the new alternative hip-hop artists...these guys are for you. This song is chill and I'm looking to hear more from The Dean's List. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Jamie Foxx ft. Justin Timberlake & T.I.-Winner

T.I. is back! JT never disappoints and Jamie Foxx is... Jamie fuckin' Foxx. This track is my song of the week. Spin the track!!!

Marky-Rasta Monsta

I've been waiting for someone to get on this track for the past few weeks and was almost getting ready to do my own thing with this beat lol. This a remix of Aloe Blacc's "I Need A Dollar," the theme song for How to Make it in America.
Download: Rasta Monsta (I Need A Dollar REMIX)

Here's a glimpse of the show (not the theme song):

The show is on HBO on Sundays and has a lot of hip-hop/rap enthusiasts tuned in. Mainly because the show features Kid Cudi (who plays Domingo on the series), but also because of the it's theme as a whole. The show takes place in New York City and is basically HBO's new Entourage except this time it's about a couple of guys trying to make it. It's a grittier, more realistic outlook of some young people on their grind...which is a parallel for many rappers and entertainers. Love the beat, love the show. Spin the track.

Some Mash-Up Magic...DJ Jewboy-"Overnight Celebrity Love"

This, along with the Lil Wayne/The Office mash-up, is one of the best I've heard. Night at the Roxbury's "What is Love" and Twista's "Overnight Celebrity." Props to DJ Jewboy for the mash-up and goodmusicallday.com who stays on top of their mash-up game.

The Baker's Dozen has definitely opened my perspective on all kinds of music and artists I normally wouldn't even bother listening to. A couple weeks ago, I would've given you a million reason why I HATE mash-ups. Recent events have flipped my outlook. For one, I got a Djay app on my Macbook and hav been messing around a bit and...its way too fun. I actually recorded a few mixes myself and they aren't too bad. Secondly, I've been hearing some simple mash-ups, like this one, that sound pretty damn good and don't ruin the original song for me. Spin the Track.

Hot Out the Oven: Asher Roth

If your impression of the "I Love College" phenom is still based on that song "I Love College," I highly recommend you download this new mixtape and any of Asher Roth's tracks that weren't on his album. He's been on his grind and has been dishing out some killa flow. Spin the track.

T-Pain ft. Snoop Dogg, Mack Maine- Ghetto Commandments

When I title a track "club banger" its pretty much any song you're probably gonna hear on the radio or in a "club" pretty much because it's fun to listen to despite it's lyrical or overall quality. This is a club banger. Nonetheless I'll probably bump the track simply cuz...it bumps. I'm not big on T-Pain but you'll be hearing this all around in a couple weeks so if you're trying to be on top of your game...download it now. Spin the Track.

Hot Out the Oven: Intuition

I posted this guy's remix of Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" a little while ago and now here is a full mixtape of his ingenious work.

"I took a collection of 11 songs that I love (no rap music), songs that I think fans of any type of music would love, and I added a verse to each. I didn’t chop the songs up and flip the samples for brownie points. I didn’t try to make something new out of these songs. I just tried to leave the original songs alone as much as I could, and added one verse over each song to make it seem as if I was invited into the studio with the band to collaborate. All of these collaborations are, of course, unauthorized, but I tried to make each verse as relevant to the songs’ original lyrics as I possibly could."

The samples are dope-jazz based, soulful instrumentals and hooks. Worth the listen...shit is fire. Spin the track.

more DRAKE.

I'm not feeling this single but I'll let y'all get a listen. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Cobe Obeah

This song is FIRE! Cobe Obeah has a few decent tracks and a mixtape out but this song is really the only one I'm feeling and I highly recommend it. Spin the track.

Nothin' On You RmX.

Since you're gonna be hearing this song left and right for the next 6 months, you might as well get a new take on it. Outkast's Big Boi gets on the track for a verse...not too different from the original. B.o.B's album The Adventures of Bobby Ray drops April 27th. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Nickelus F & XV-Shine On

Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a classic jam. This track is pretty hot, start off the week right and Spin the track.

Weekend Track.

It's Friday, what up world. Here's another track off of Consequence's mixtape Movies On Demand that should get your weekend going. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Consequence-Don't Stand So Close to Me (ft. Styles P)

Consequence recently dropped a mixtape, Movies On Demand. I'm not too impressed but there are a couple jamz on it. This track is hot, love the beat. Spin the track.

The Office Musik

I'm not big on Mash-Ups but this is pretty well done...simple with a dope melody. The Office theme song and Lil Wayne's- Hustler Musik. Spin the track.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Enjoy St. Patty's and celebrate with a little Macklemore. This guy is real underground but I'm a big fan. I may not be Irish but I fux with this song all day. Be on the looks for more, he's got a few other songs that are well worth a listen. Spin the track.

Can't Get Enough of B.o.B.

"Out of Time" (May 25th Mixtape)

B.o.B is probably my fav artist right now. His album drops April 27th but I'm sure it'll leak pretty soon. Hopefully he delivers and doesn't disappoint but so far he has been on point. From rap/hip-hop to soulful R&B and pop he's a well rounded musician. Spin the track.

Freshmen Shout Out: Donnis

"Underdog"

"I Am Me"

"Song For Every Ex"

Perhaps I was a bit too critical of XXL's Freshmen class. I've been giving the artists some more play and they aren't THAT bad, I just feel there were some stronger contenders. Anywayz Donnis is another artist looking to get some cred in the hip-hop realm. Outta ATL, Donnis has a bit of that T.I. sound in his music but is pretty versatile and has a few R&B songs as well. His mixtape "Diary of an ATL Brave" is worth the listen and deff worth the download if you're into southern rap. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Chiddy BanG

If you don't have Chiddy Bang's mixtape The Swelly Express, you better wake the fuck up. It was one of my early posts so shuffle through the blog and check it out. This is a single off their new mixtape and it's alright...I look forward to more. Spin the track.

Why Blog?

Other than posting my opinion on music and providing easy access to downloads...I've been asked why I spend my time blogging. Firstly I love music and love spreading the word on whats hot and what I'm bumping. Another big reason why I threw up The Baker's Dozen is to expose some rising artists and people who simply may get no other play. There are tons of artists who may never get a deal but are talent nonetheless. I was surfing some other blogs(goodmusicallday.com) and came across this video. Once again another college kid doing it up. Give him a play, who knows...he maybe the next Asher or Sam Adams. Spin the track.

Freshmen Shout Out: J. Cole- Lights Please

J.Cole is amongst 9 other artists labeled as "The Freshmen Class" by XXL magazine. Last year's freshmen class included Kid Cudi, Asher Roth, and B.o.B... all of whom hav really blown up in the music scene within the past year. Unfortunately this year's Freshmen List (2010) is pretty fucking wack. I doubt you'll hear anything worth while from half the artists on the list. In addition Wiz Khalifa is listed as a freshmen despite the fact he already dropped an album (Deal or No Deal) and several mixtapes. This track is one of the better songs from this year's freshmen class, I'm not too sure how I feel about J.Cole but my boy Nick Fontaine hit me with some knowledge so I'm just spreading the wealth. Spin the track.

Stayin' On Point...Precyse

I've got a ton of underground music streaming in and hope everybody is enjoying The Bakery so far. The site's been up for less than a week and the hitz are building so stay loyal. Precyse keeps it smooth and this song is that shit. Spin the track.

Fresh Out the Oven: Grizzly Bear- Two Weeks (rmx)

The link leads to a remix of the song that has a rap verse somewhere in the middle...still has a mellow melody tho. Here's some new shit for you guys to enjoy. NYC is a hot spot for pop/electronic bands. Grizzly Bear is outta Brooklyn, NY with a slight Ratatat vibe to them but definitely a little lighter with the guitar and synths and more keyboard based. This track just sets that chill mood. Spin the track.

Fabolous

Here's a preview....

This mixtapes been out for a bit but I wanted to give it a listen before dishing it out. All in all its alright, I'm a fan of Fab so my outlook might be a little bias but...its worth a listen. Spin the track.

The Original Wiz...Sam Adams

As a student at Boston College, I gotta show some love to Beantown's own Sam Adams Wisner. Asher Roth deff paved the way for the new stream of white rappers...be on the look out for Macklemore and Chris Webby. And if you've been keeping up, Mike Posner is another college kid in with the hip-hip game (Duke). Originally known as "Wiz," the young rapper had to change his rap alias after Pittsburgh's Wiz Khalifa dropped some dope tracks. Sam Adams is nothing short of spectacular in and out the studio. Like Posner, he is also in school and is a senior at Trinity College in Connecticut. To top that, he is captain of the soccer team. Sam Adams first blew up with his I Love College remix "I Hate College." The Cambridge phenom just dropped an EP that debuted number one on iTunes topping the veteran DJ Khaled's new album. Be sure to check out all his shit, I'm bumping "Brand New" and "Better than You" off the album. All my peeps at BC show the kid some love and Spin the track!

Kevin RudoIf- I Made It (ft. Birdman, Jay Sean, Lil Wayne)

I normally don't fuck with Kevin Rudolf and the rockstar/hip-hop vibe but this song is smooth. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Kid CuDi

Man On The Moon was an awesome album and anything Cudi has done has left me amazed and waiting for more. This track is off his new album "Cudder-The Revolution of Evolution" and as always...is that shit. Spin the track.

Get some sound...Mike Posner

Mike Posner is an up and coming R&B, Pop vocalist out of Duke University, currently in his senior year. He dropped an album earlier this year but here are some mixtapes from his band Mike Posner and The Brain Trust and a mixtape produced by Clinton Sparks. He's got a swag kind of like Lloyd but has a distinct sound thats worth a listen. Spin the track.

Hot Out the Oven: Drake-Over

This is the first single released from Drake's upcoming album [Thank Me Later]...the song is aight. This album has been highly anticipated and it should be dope, Drake has been on his grind for the past 2 years with no record deal. Its indisputable he is a talented musician and provides catchy vocals and hooks along with entertaining lyricism and a natural flow. I'm fiendin' for more Drake jus about all the time so be on the look out. Spin the track.

Chiddy Bang

Get a feel of the mixtape, sampling MGMT's "Kids":

"Never"

Chiddy Bang is an up and coming hip-hop duo with some dope samples and tight rhymes. The tracks "Never" and "Not for adults (KIDS)" are my favs off this mixtape.  Spin the track.

Ratatat Remix

 Bienie Siegel/Jay-Z-Glock Nines (Ratatat Remix)

For those of you who have been sleeping for a few years...Ratatat is bomb as hell. The duo out of NYC has been pumping out electronic jamz for the past few years now and has revolutionized the power of instrumentals. This mix is just one many Ratatat has to offer in addition to some solid original tracks. Spin the track.

Cudder on the track...

Dan Black ft. Kid Cudi- Symphonies Remix

Kid Cudi never ceases to amaze me with his versatility and ability to flow to just about anything...He is actually in a new show on HBO titled "How to Make it in America." If you get a chance, deff check the series out its the first season and its an awesome show.Spin the track.

Slightly Stoopid-Wiseman...excuse the poor quality vid, enjoy the music.

I'm a fan of these guys, if you are into Jack Johnson or that "bro" music...check em out. Spin the track.

Club Banger...Plies.

Plies-Awesome

I'm not big on southern hip-hop and to be honest this song is a joke but I know some people are all about the beat and having some shit to bump to. Spin the track.

Hilltop Hoods-Nosebleed Section
