Hot Out the Oven: Blue Scholars
The Blue Scholars are out of Seattle, Washington and have been tearing up the underground scene for quite a bit. The duo's music and success is really based on their production. The lyrics and flow are alrite but I won't front, its their beats that make them worth listening to. Their most well known track, and my personal favorite, is "No Rest For The Weary." They have a couple albums and tons of other songs. Blue Scholars has a fairly unique sound and has sampled some new age indie/alternative bands-they hav an Owl City remix [Paul Valery] and an Empire of the Sun [New People] sample as well. I love their beats and production but don't feel the actual rapping as much so I'm too familiar with all their tracks. These two are pretty dope tho. Spin the track.
